TOG 2* Heavy Tank (3x)
Dieser Artikel ist endgültig vergriffen
Development -
When the war broke out in 1939, many in Britain expected a repeat of the First World War with the army joining the French in the trenches. They would build up an unbeatable material advantage and then smash the German trenches and roll on to Berlin.
The old gang of Swinton, Ricardo and Wilson who created the diamond-shaped heavy tanks of the First World War advised the General Staff to request designs for a "shelled area" infantry tank to lead the breakthrough. The A20 specificat... (vollständige Beschreibung)

Hypothetical Combat Service -
When rumours of the new German Tiger heavy tank reached British intelligence, the TOG 2* gained new importance as the only British design capable of carrying a 17 pdr gun. The tank was rushed into production and a weak battalion of two small companies was rushed to Africa. In typical British fashion, they never operated as a battalion, being given out in penny packets to attacks all along the front.

Development -
In September 1941, rumours of new German heavy tanks in development led the General Staff to request the Tank Board to produce cruiser and infantry tanks mounting large-calibre high-velocity guns specifically for engaging heavy German tanks. The Challenger cruiser tank ran into difficulties and only a small number saw service in 1944 and 1945, although the turret was fitted to the TOG 2* heavy tank. In July 1941 the US Army Ordnance office issued joint specifications with the British for three new armoured cars. The T17E1 specification called for a medium armored car which eventually became the Staghound, while the T18 called for a heavy armoured car.

Crusader AA
Dieser Artikel ist endgültig vergriffen
Crusader AA was a series of British air defence vehicles based on Crusader tank chassis. The Crusader AA used the now obsolete Crusader tank hull to provide armoured self-propelled anti-aircraft cover for armoured units.
Anti-Aircraft versions of the Crusader were developed in response to the threat posed by German "tank-busting" ground attack aircraft. The first design used a Bofors 40mm anti-aircraft gun on a Crusader III chassis, but this design was ultimately not adopted for this role.

Valentine VIII
Dieser Artikel ist endgültig vergriffen
There was a long-felt need for an upgunned version of the Valentine, but the narrow hull of the tank did put severe constraints on the size of the turret. To install a bigger gun (6-pounder instead of a 2-pounder), it was necessary to leave the third occupant out of the turret, to give up the coaxial MG and to decrease the side armor.
The new model entered service in 1942 and was the first to be able to compete against the last German Panzer III, as far as firepower was concerned.
